What exactly are you going to do when your face becomes the problem that you can’t simply face? Yes, you read it write. This kind of problem is very common especially for individuals with acne. Acne does not only present a problem in the surface but creates a more complicated problem and that is pertaining to the big word SELF-ESTEEM. But before we get all mushy let us first try to find out what acne is all about and what are the ways of preventing it or if ever you have it already, then let us discuss on ways of eliminating it from the surface of your face.
What is acne? Acne is the term usually referring to pimples as well as complexion problems that occurs most especially in young people and very seldom in adults. However, some adults may also experience acne outbreak. Acne usually occurs in the face but may also appear in some part of the body including the neck, chest, back and even upper arms. The good news about acne is that it is only a skin problem and does not in any way affect your general health. There are causes why acne occurs most especially in young people, and the reason for this, is that during puberty the oil glands of the skin begins producing an oily material called the sebum. This sebum is not all evil, in fact sebum is the one that lubricates the skin. However, there are instances wherein the wall of the oil gland breaks and then spills the sebum on the skin thus causing redness, swelling and then pus-in short a pimple. In addition, as though the whole scenario is not yet worst, there is the presence of bacteria that normally resides on the sebum produced by the skin oil glands called propionibacterium acnes. The thing is, this bacterium multiplies which
then causes inflammation and finally ending up to acne.
However, there are cases wherein acne is really part of your genes or simply putting it-it runs in your family so don’t be surprised if you have one. And also, in most cases of women, acne worsens during their menstrual period. And another thing, don’t blame the food for your acne since there are no studies proving that food causes acne however there are some food that may worsen acne. Some of the common food that worsens acne are chocolate, nuts, carbonated beverages and even milk. Another thing that worsens acne is stress and also some brands of cosmetics. For women who experience acne in their middle age there are still no explanation for such acne occurrence.
After discussing all those acne causing agents, it is now time to discuss about the various treatments for acne. There are some acne treatments that may be bought over the counter without the need for a doctor’s prescription these acne treatments oftentimes contain benzoyl peroxide which is best in treating acne. Another thing, kindly refrain from picking or squeezing your pimples because it may irritate your skin and then leave off an ugly scar in your face. However, for worst cases of acne an acne surgery may be required. Lastly, there are really no medical cure for acne nevertheless acne can be controlled it only depends on how patient you are in following tips in controlling acne.
